How long has it been since you've seen one of these? This belt was on old Speedy when I bought him. The pulley had never been adjusted, and I have a feeling that somebody goofed up when they were installing the belt. Must have let the tractor set out with the exhaust uncovered and let it rain in. The tractor had been setting over 20 years with a stuck engine, when I found it in the boneyard. I've ran it about 20 hours so far, and no signs of un-ravelling yet. ken

If you are suggesting that the belt is original to the tractor, I am afraid you are mistaken. The first pair of belts are always painted. My 660 has its original belt. The paint is uneven as some parts of it got a direct shot and other segments got only overspray. The part number shows in an area that got overspray. I recently took it off because I installed a Fisher snowplow pump and needed a longer belt.

Hey don't give up on us Ken.

Thats a great picture now that we know where the belt came from.

And it looks like your doing a great job of restoring it also.

Gary

You can still buy a fan belt for an H at any Case-IH dealer, but I'll guarantee it will not have that IH logo on it. If you take that tractor to any shows, make sure that printing is visible when the engine is shut off.

Your right....That wasn't a very clear topic. I bought this old H last year out of the boneyard because it had a M&W 9 speed tranny. The tractor had set for over 20 years with a stuck engine before it ended up in the junkyard. The fanbelt picture is a "after, or during " photo. This is a before photo taken the day I found it.
