Howdy, Boys:

Just got back from Virginia where I looked over, and subsequently bought, a stage 2 Super H. The paint could be a little better (looks great from 15 feet) and so could the front tires, but man, it sure runs sweet and smooth. No gear noises, smooth clutch, tight steering and very good sheet metal. Good brakes. Good rims. Strong engine and no smoke at all.

I guess it must be a 1953 (Serial #20858 J) but a very late one, as all the casting dates are Nov "Y". (Example: Clutch housing is 11-25-Y). Grill has the two big holes in it. Factory live hydraulics with the reservoir under the tank and the battery under the seat. Under 2 g's. I am sooooo o happy. Now, a whole new tractor to start learning about. mike

Congrats, and welcome to the 1953 Stage II Super H Owners" Club! I own #20995. It wasn"t in nearly as good condition as yours, but I"m working on that.

On a side note, if you"re thinking about getting that "Super Series Photo Archive" to get some Super H pictures, don"t bother. $29.95 down the toilet. The book has a total of six Super H pictures, two of the same Stage I, and four of the same Stage II, no detail shots. 1/3 of the book is Super A, 1/3 is Super C, and nearly 1/3 is Super M. Super H is poorly represented.

Hi, Dennis: Yeah, unfortunately, I already found that out about the book's coverage of Super H's. Very sparse and poor. Fortunately, I have a couple of Super A's, so at least I can enjoy that section. mike

In my opinion you just got the best tractor ever made - easy on fuel, appealing to the eye and music to the ears. Hope you enjoy your super as much as I like mine! Congrats from Wis, Pat
