Jackie: Your Super A is about 18-20 hp and J stands for a Rockford clutch. A and Super A clutches up to early 53 were Auburn and only had 3 springs in presure plate. the Rockford has 6 springs.

Paul: I looked at this, almost went for the Nebraska test book, then remembered IH never had the Super A tested at Nebraska. Personally I don't think it crucial that one be exact when it comes to these little offsets. If I recall by the time IH got to 140, they were calling it 22-24 hp. I have the SA, 130 and 140, and from using them, would be hard pressed to decide which one has the most hp. My SA at 113 cubic inch will put out one heck of a mean pull alongside the other two, both coming in with 123 cubic inches.
