I have an MD with the vertical distributor and the pin that holds the gear on broke and let the gear slide and ware out. My parts book only shows the horizontial distributor. Can anyone tell me part no. or ware to get pin and gear? Any help would be greatly appricated.

bates corporation in bourbon indiana will probably have a good used distributor for you. sounds like you have the delco distrib in it. i have an old m that did the same thing. have the serial number off the distributor when you call them so they can match it up

JCH That distributor should be a 90 degree delco distributor. Check the parts sites or salvage yards. Good luck.

The distributor is a non stock Autolite device. Parts may be hard to find new, but someone here might know of gears in the used parts arena. The original is either a mag, or a distributor that is straight out of the drive housing facing the rear of the tractor. (they turn reverse from all Gas engined IH/Farmalls, with a few exceptions) JimN
