I read your post a few pages back and can't help you with bearings for the Ford muffler. BUT I see you need postholes for soft ground in Wisc. I have a four foot dia. X thirty foot deep hand dug well in hard GA clay I'd be willing to part with. You will have to get a engineer to compute how many postholes are in it. Shipping costs will be next to nothing. David.

Thank's guys. I remember Dad digging late at night while I held the lantern so I,m almost sure it was dug on a new moon. There IS something to that story about the moon phase when digging holes. If the well is ever shipped, I had planned to pull a vacuum to absolute zero atmosphere where a $0.39 stamp would cover shipping. I sure want one of those pond's next time one comes available (less the water). David.

just remember one thing there, if those post holes were dug under a full moon, you will not have enough dirt to through back in the holes !!lost my shirt on that deal, had to buy a truck load of dirt to finish the job !

I knew a guy once that moved a pond from one farm to another one.

Shipping is calculated by volume too, not just weight, so be sure and let the air outta them things or you'll get kilt on the shipping.

If he cut them to length and let the air out he could fold`em and stack them on a skid .

We've bought several of these wells on farm sales to be divided up for future reuse as postholes. The real secret is to run them through your air compressor first, thus making them smaller, thus requiring less storage space. We generally get about 200 postholes inside of a standard thermos bottle....but ya gotta be reeeeeaaaaa l careful opening the cap.
