I read this site almost every nite, but never can contribute anything. Too inexperienced.
Just gonna share a couple things I did to my 300 u that may give someone ideas. I have leg trouble and made a step to get on it. Just took two pieces of 1 1/2" X 2" angle iron and faced the 1 1/2" sides to each other (like a trough) and welded together. Then took two pieces of 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" angle iron and welded them inside the other two pieces, flat side up. This made a sturdy "L" shaped step which I bolted ahead of the left tire to two holes already in the loader brace. Works great.
Also, my tractor must sit outside, and my butt does not like sitting on ice in the winter. I made a hings out of two pieces of 10" X 12" 3/16" plate steel, welded 3/4" pipe for the hinge part (ran 5/8" rod through it), and tacked two nuts on the bottom plate for spacer between the plates. Then installed between pan and bracket originally on tractor, seat tilts back. Lastly, made a latch to hold the seat down as it can come up accidentally if you lean back.
This also suits my needs well.

Jim's right, this is a great tractor. I have nothing to compare it to, but It has never let me down performance wise. The only thing I could ask for is skidsteer, but thats another story altogether =P

Nice Modifications, Can you post pics?
They are thoughtful and sound like Ideas others may need. I wondered how your Ute was operating, I remember several posts on the unit. JimN

Sorry, no digital camera so can't do the pics. Re how my ute is doing, I will bottom line it for you. I feel blessed to have a tractor, and I do not think I could be blessed with a tractor I like more. It is working better than it ever has since I have owned it, unbelieveable since I did all the work. I am very, very happy with it. Thanks.
