I'm nomally a two cylinder kinda guy, but I do like those SMTA's. I work here in south TX, but home is in TN. I found one with great metal and an unbroken Schwartz wide front. It presently has a buffel grass picker on it (like a cotton picker, but with a flail in the front instead of spindles) The engine is free but it has been in its present spot outdoors for about 5 years. I try to steer away from guys who ask whats it worth on the JD board, but can you fellas help me out with some sort of value for this machine in running condition?? I see one in the ads for $3400. Is that about the going rate? It has black tires, and is missing the drawbar frame altogether. Do all MTA's have live power? Thanks for all the help!!

SMTA's are the Most valued Letter series. The SMTA Diesel, even more so. If the tractor is straight and engine free I think it is to be jumped on. If the rear tires are 75% or better, it is a great buy. Hitches are easy to find. The option for Live Hydro, and Live PTO (and TA)were rarely deleted items, and more or less expected to be on the tractor. Good luck, That tractor can affect the color spectrum in your minds eye toward the long wave end. JimN
