I have a 1947 H with the belly mounted hydraulic system. It started leaking fluid bad when the remote cylinder is used. I took it out and had the imput shaft seal replaced. The first time the remote cylinder reached the end of the stroke the seal started leaking again. Any ideas?

First thing to look at is the shaft that the seal goes around. If a groove has been worn in the shaft over the years, the seal won't seal.

Second thing to look at is the relief valve. If that is not kicking in, then something's going to give when the end of the cylinder stroke is reached.

Were is the pressure relief valve located? Shouldn't the shop check it when the replace the seal?

Are you referring to the pump actually leaking or the remote cylinder? Is the shaft seal on the pump or the cylinder?
