Do you have a camera? Take a picture before you remove it.

The terminals on the generator and regulator/cut out are labled with one or more letters. You may have to use a wire brush to clean them up so you can see them, but they are there. That will make tagging the wires easier. Dave

Label which wire attaches where such as the gennys F and A terminals (if so labeled) and any BAT or ARM or GEN or LOAD terminals on a 3 or 4 terminal Voltage Regulator or a 2 wire Cutout Relay. Disconnect the battery cable first to avoid any shorts and after reinstalling the genny I would Polarize it before start up.

Piece of cake

Good question, glad to see someone actually reads n cares about all this stuff sometimes lol

Its what sets n imparts the residual magnetism in the gennys Field winding iron poles to the correct magnetic North/South Polarity to correspond with the same correct electrical Positive/Negative polarity so she charges at the correct polarity to match the battery ground and NOT mess up the Voltage Regulator

Clear as mud ?????

Simply use a lil jumper wire or screwdriver etc to momentarily flash jump from the VR's or Cutout Relays BAT terminal over to its ARM/GEN terminal and you ought to get a small spark Alahhhhh hhhhh hh shes Polarized and the iron field poles have the proper North/South Magnetic polarity so she charges at the correct Electrical Pos/Neg polarity.

If there is a regulator or cutout relay mounted to it, there will be two or three wires running to the tractor from the reg/cutout. They should be taped up and tagged as to the terminal they came off of. Send the gen and reg/cutout to the repair as a unit. If it has a seperate regulator not mounted on the gen. then there will be two wires connected. One fat wire and one small wire. The Fat wire goes on the A terminal, The thin wire goes on the F terminal. The Wires should be taped up and Tagged to be sure. Removing the mounts will losten the belt. Good luck, JimN
