Will a 300 or 350 Farmall engine fit in a 45 H and what has to be changed to make it work (flywheel, clutch, pressure plate motor mounts etc)?

For a complete 300 into H the only things that are not bolt on and need modified to work are the crank vent pipe to air cleaner, air cleaner pipe or connection to carb. and choke rod. Some bolt on changes, fan blades are little bigger outside diameter on 300 than H. If your not using 300 live hydraulic pump you will need a distributor drive from a later H or SH. Your H flywheel and clutch will bolt up, but if you plan to pull it hard you may want to use a late H or SH 10.5 inch clutch set up. Fitting in block for oil pressure gauge needs changed and its a little more easy to do when you have frame rail removed. Governor throttle control lever and shaft needs switched or H governor put on 300 engine. If you do that put the throttle shaft and tube going to carb. from 300 onto H governor.

Should be pretty much a direct swap.

If you use the 350 flywheel, you have to use a super H clutch disk, and/or a Super H pressure plate, The 350 pressure plate can work,,, but you will have to adjust the throw out bearing closer to the clutch fingers. SH-350 had a 10.5" diameter clutch, H's had 10" Dont know for sure on the starter ring,,, they interchange, but the 350 may have had different teeth,,, Chad
