I was wondering what a McCormick W6 is worth. It is all original and the tin is good. It has 12volt, rear weights, and runs. It would be an easy restre as it needs paints. Front tires are bad. Thanks for your help.

Joe

Do a check on this site on W-6"s for sale. It will give you a round about price on what people are asking. I grew up on Farmall M"s and I like the W-6 more. If your working a row crop, the M is hands down easier to use. Now, if your into looks, the W-6 is a better looking tractor and harder to find as well depending on where you live. I have a W-6 and have never seen another one in South Texas. I wish I had a few sets of the rear wheel weights though. Sounds like a good deal to me. Good luck,
Charles

Yep, like the other posts have said, what you have there is basically an M that isn't near as handy as an M from a using standpoint. Doesn't mean it isn't a desirable tractor though. There's tons of M's out there and not nearly as many W-6's, so you just need to find the right person who's wanting one.

Value-wise, running ok with bad front tires, I'd say the estimate below of $800 is in the ballpark, might be worth more if you can wait to find the right buyer.

I would think a W6 might bring about $800 in running condition. Unless you find a collector looking for one, you have a hard sell item. Guys today want lots of ease of operation and the W6 just doesn't have it. My neighbor has a W6 with a front trip bucket loader and he offered it to me for $600. It is in running shape, but you can barely steer it and that is with an empty bucket.
It has the "Arm Strong Steering".

The "W" tractors are not as handy for utility use as same year C-H-M (opinion) the driving position, difficult steering, and ease of mounting the seat, are slight drawbacks. If it is running well, and has been warmed up w/o smoke, pulls well, then I would say 1200-1500$. If it has been converted to live Hydro, and the electrical system is not a rats nest, add 250.
