I'm wanting to remove the entire bely pulley assembly on my '41 H. On a previous post a couple guys pointed out that some of the bolts come up from the trans. Does the tractor have to be split to access these bolts? I have a service manual coming, but not here yet. Also, did IH make a cover, or do I need to make one? Thanks again.

Thanks for the help. The threads sticking up on the rear corners had me worried- glad they are only guides. If anyone has a cover, I would like to buy one. Toolz

Be sure to put the 2 long bolts in the center of the housing back in place before re-installing on the tractor; you can"t get them in later without lifting the gas tank out of the way.

UNBOLT THE BELT PULLY HOUSING AND LIFT IT OFF, THE 2 SHORT BOLTS, WITH NO HEAD, THAT ARE LEFT ARE GUIDE STUDS, THEY UNTHREAD WITH A SMALL PIPE WRENCH, IF NEEDED, THEN BOLT ON A COVER HOUSING FROM ANOTHER TRACTOR
