A truly stupid Farmall question

I"ve got the bug and am looking for a red tractor with a three point/WFE, and would prefer a M or H. Did they make these models with a factory three point or were they all added on? Should know better but it"s been a few years since I pulled a rood or a bailer

Thanks

Art

It's in the way, but it does use the factory drawbar, which gives you a good first step. Any 3-point equipped tractor is hard to get on and off from the rear.

Thanks, the Saginawcountytractor.com three point looks great, I'll start that search for the H or M.

By the way, a rood is the implement that picks cotton off of the ground after the pickers run through.

Have seen a lot of cotton fields and some that looked like 3 inch snow after picking but everyone around here leaves it where it falls. We rented place several years ago and owner loved to see poor picking job as he turned cows in to clean it up.

Well there,,,,, ,,,,, ,I learn something every day. (Which isn't too hard when you're not terribly smart to start with)

Thanks,
Paul

I have the Saginaw hitch on my H. I think it is better than OEM hitches I have seen. Really built stout, too.

n--

Lots of H's and M's around but none will have a factory 3 pt. since International didn't have a 3 pts. back then.

However, Saginaw Valley Implements sells a dandy after-market 3 pt. for Farmalls. It's a bit pricey because Farmalls need a couple of hydralulic cylinders (they come with it), but it's a good unit. I've seen a couple on Farmalls and they are the way to go. I have a Saginaw 3 pt. on my JD A and I love it.

In-too-deep,

Good luck in finding your tractor. Once you've been bitten by the red bug though, it's hard to shake. I've just got to ask, what's a rood?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 1206 was the first to have 3point instead of fast hitch. It is a little bigger than what you want though. lol

The first M or H-based tractor to come with a factory 3pt hitch in the United States is the Farmall 656.

Now, if you can get yourself a British tractor, the B450 has a factory 3pt hitch.

i"ve got an M and H, and I am 100% certain that they did not come with 3pt. from the factory. Factory widefrontends WERE available, however they are getting harder and harder to find.

They did have aftermarket shwartz wide fronts which are okay. I find that aftermarket 3pts are clumsy and large contraptions that I would not put on an H or M.

No H or M factory with 3-point. Saginawcountytractor.com has a really good add-on 3-point for the H thru 560, though.
