I couldn't knock mine out of my SA. I went to the hardware store and bought some continuosly threaded 5/8" rod & some nuts & washers. I had some 3/8" X 2" flat bar laying around & cut it up into lengths that would span the sleeves. I drilled a hole in the centers for the rod. I put the rod down the cylinder, and put on a plate, and a nut at the bottom end. On the top, I pulled the rod & plate up tight against the bottom of the sleeve, and put on a longer plate across the liner I was pulling. I laid a couple of nuts under each end, to bridge the top of the sleeve. I screwed another nut down on the plate, and tightened it down with a wrench. That will jack the sleeves up enough to break the seal, and it should lift out by hand after that.

I used a piece of 2X2 oak and tapped them out on an A with a hammer. You need to clean that block area where those sleeve seals are installed and at the top of the block in that recessed area where the sleeves sit. Hal

Good news, They are easy. If the engine stopped with the pistons 1/2 way up it is a bit more difficult. THey are wet sleeves. They are sealed at the bottom with a "O"ring and at the top with a ring of the sleeve in a groove in the top of the block. They push right up and our with minimal effort. Ususlly a broomstick sized strut and wooden /plastic mallet will send them up. The crank can get in the way if it is sideways, so keep an eye on that to avoid damaging lower end parts, or nicking the crank. JimN
