After looking the other way and griting my teeth from watching it sit outside for 6 years. I finally towed my uncles once beautiful M to my place to get it running for him to sell. Water poured from several spark plugs when I pulled them out. Manifolds and carb were filled with water also. There is a hole/split in no. 4 cylinder wall leading to water jacket. My thinking is that if it has wet sleves there is a better chance the block my be salvagable but I dont know what type it has. What do you guys think about the situation? Thanks in advance for your input and experience.

If tractor does not look good (above average) you will be lucky to get price of engine overhaul for it after it is running.

you can have the block welded and then machine the block back to fit the sleeve. then use a little loc-tite on the top and bottom of the sleeve when you install the new one.

S.E. Mich., I'll have to talk to my Uncle and see what he wants to do.

Dry Sleeves, the water probably came from rain sitting out for 6 years. The water probably froze and cracked the block.

I am not sure about M but H has dry sleeves--I suspect that M does also. Some of the other guys will let you know for sure. If the water is coming out where you say, get ready for heartache! I was wondering if it would durn over?
