With the filler plug removed, how do you check and add to to get the proper level of hydrolic fluid in the Farmall cub...

the lift jumps and I was told to check to make sure there was plenty of fluid

I can see no fluid when opened.

Thanks!

The fill to the fill hole is correct but it must be done with hydraulic rockshaft in rear position. If not you will overfill it.

Rockshaft in rear position?

Does that mean that the hydrolic lever is all the way back, towards the rear of the tractor?

Thanks, buffc

Thanks for the Help!

That's right lever all the way back but do it while running so rockshaft goes back as well. The cylinder for the rockshaft contains more oil when forward. That extra oil goes to resovoir when rockshaft is back.

You need to fill it up to the filler plug (so it starts running out). They didn't make it very convienent to fill, since the filler plug is under the gas tank, so I usually use a funnel with a flexible pipe on it. Roger
