I've seen the first manifold heat sheild for a distilate manifold for an H on ebay. I'm wondering how rare they are, and what they are worth?

They are pretty hard to come by that arent all rusted out and will bring top dollar. I sold one that was mint shape for a B got 75.

I don"t know how rare they are, but when I bought my 1942 H it still had the distilate manifold, heat shield and starting tank. My heat shield was still in pretty good shape outside of some deterioration around the mounting holes.

Hi, Mike:
I don't know what they are worth, but I do know they are pretty rare in good shape. Most are rusted, burned sway, or were discarded as the tractors were updated with different manifolds to run on gasoline only. I saw a nice old H in Wisconsin this summer with all the distillate goodies on it - unrestored - in brown rust color all over. Probably never had been repainted. The guy who had it told me the tractor ought to be restored, as those components were rare items today. I think he is right, as I have never seen another that complete. mike
