Would appreciate anyone giving me the following specs please as I have almost exhausted the web looking.

Weight inc. accessories. (wet or dry)
Length from flywheel to fan.
Height over all.
Hp and Torque.

A friend of mine needs the info as he is looking at repowering his small IH dual cab Truck. Any thoughts appreciated.

If you could give me until Monday, I could get the approximite measurements for you. If not, I know there are other guys on this board with 310's and 358's who would be happy to take some quick measurements. They will differ slightly depending on what appliction the engine came from, as there were different oil pans, spacers between fan and water pump, ect. As far as weight goes, should be about the same as any six-cylinder diesel in that cubic inch range, a rough guess would be 1200 pounds for the block, head, all internal parts, and the flywheel. I know that the 1420 combine with the 358 was rated at 120 horsepower at the flywheel. Tractors are rated at the PTO, and most tractors with that engine are around 90 PTO HP, which would probably work out to 100 at the flywheel. The pump can easily be turned up for more, and I bet it could do 150 and still be pretty reliable. Good luck with the project, I always thought a 358 would make a neat engine for a truck, as they like to rev high and are very easy on fuel.
