I got the head and the pan off my H today. Pulled the pistons. Follow the inspection procedures you have advised me to follow. The oil rings were worn smack out and that was the reason for the oil sucking.

Shecked the sleeves very carefully, there is NO LIP at the top to catch a fingernail on...and, I called in my neighbor, who pretty much knows everything, and he pronounced me the luckiest person in Union County...saying that the sleeves were servicable...(I measured them and agree :-)

So, to the machine shop with the head...Jimmy, the lead dog there, says that I need new seats as the valves are recessed too far. So, he will get me in good shape there.

And, I am just full of good news for me today, and that is, while there, there was another Farmall H person there with his engine. He is making his H engine back 150% correct. New Pistons, Sleeves, etc etc etc. The net result is, I picked up 4 servicable sleeves with minimum wear that I have been looking for for 4 months...patience has its virtue... :-) Did I mention for free????

I know something awful is going to go wrong tomorrow....just cannot hardly wait to see what it is going to be...

Are you recovered from the "spring" injury?

Thank you for asking. Went for X-ray and nothing broken...Just bruised...still hurts a little but is decreasing every day till it is almost gone. I take blood thinner because of heart and as a result have a large bloody looking bruise under the skin.
