Have a 1950 McCormick W-9. PTO shifter is broken and needs to be replaced.

Will a Farmall M pto fit a McCormick W-9?

Thanks,

jhauck

Shifting arms housing and related parts are the same, but if you need the shifter tube or the PTO shaft there not the same.

D Slater:

One more question, please sir:

Assumption: If the PTO operates OK engaged, then the shaft and the shifter sleeve should be OK. All I should need to get the PTO to disengage is replace the shifter lever/arm and housing?

Thanks,

john h

If theres trouble with the shift lever and related parts you should be able to see the problem when PTO is removed. If so you can use M parts if needed. If it quits driving when load is put on PTO the splines on shifter sleeve or counter shaft may be worn, or a problem with spring and popet for internal shift lever. If there's a problem engaging PTO the PTO shaft at front or bushing in counter shaft may be worn.
