SEE WEIGHTS ON THIS TRACTOR in reply to farmer101IL, 12-08-2006 15:47:28
I have a stack of weights like these. Never occurred to me that I might make a bracket and hang them on my H. I think it would work good. And bad thoughts?

Tom, the tractor pulling boys do that all the time. Just find some fairly heavy flat iron, break out the welder, and have at it.

Just so you know, suitcase weights and frame weights were not offered in the '40s and '50s by IH until power steering became available. The SMTA has the necessary holes to attach the Farmall 400 frame weights but you will not find the weights in the SMTA parts book nor will you find PS for that model. The suitcase bracket first appeared with the 660 and similar tractors.

Knock yourself out. Go put 10 65# or 10 100# weights on your tractor. It would look fabulous particularly if it has a narrow front end.
