I posted a question about a McCormic Deering corn picker a few pages back.I got two different opinions. I would like to know what the difference is between a model 1-P and a model 14-P. I know the model 14-P is the newer one, but is there something in specific that tells them apart? Thanks again!

The 14P one row picker had the snapping rools and husking rolls as a connected single roll as did the No. 24 2 row mounted picker and the elevator always came out the back. The 1PR had a separate 6 roll husking bed. The elevator on the earlier 1PR's came out to the side but the later models after about '51 or'52 came out the rear. They changed this about the same time the 2ME picker replaced the 2M I believe.

I belive that the 14P & 1P overlapped a couple of years of production.

Older one had elevator out the side and the wagon had a long tounge that slid to fill the wagon from front to rear.Later models had rear elevators therefore pulled wagons behind.
