I just bought a '41 Farmall h. I was told the wide front end and 3 point hitch is factory...how can I tell?

Of course, they didn't tell you what factory ;-)
A three-point hitch from Saginaw County would be worth a lot more than one I cobbled together.
Good luck, Wm

The wide front was a factory option.

The 3-pt. hitch is after market.

Can't help you with the wide front but the three point is not factory. No H or M ever came out with one.

Paul: Don't say never, the British and Auzzie Super M did have factory 3 point.

Yes Hugh you are right, when IH started building the Farmall M at Doncaster in 1949 they soon found they had to design and built a 3 point hitch for them. Some of the larger IH dealers also made similer hitches and they all look very similer to the ones you lads are buying and fitting today. MJ

IH did not offer a three point hitch on their tractors until the 60's. As for the wide front if it is a IH factory one for an H it will have the tie rods out in front of the axle. There were several companies that manufactured a bolt on three point hitch kit for the H over the years but IH never did.
