I am really wanting a Farmall Grader to restore and to use around here. I have thought they were exceptional since I saw one at the Ohio Show this summer. I have found one. The fellow has quoted me a price that took my breath.

I know this is not something you see around everyday. Do any of you have any insight into the approximate value of this thing. I of course have some experience with the H and its costs etc, but the grader add on is beyond my ability.

Please let me have your thoughts. (and when he said, I would only give this price to my brother, I knew it was time to go home.)

I saw both the M & H grader at the Ohio show this past summer. I was impressed. Spoke to the owners and his wife and she told me he had a hard time finding replacement parts for the H grader and had to manufacture some of them himself. Good luck. Those were really nice units.

Tom, I have looked at graders w/tractor chassis and they are interesting. Under "Galleries" I clicked the Tractor Photos link and searched the archives for "farmall grader" some pictures and older posts, but maybe they would lead you to one. Good luck.

Sam Adams in Tatum, Tx. has an M grader that I think is for sale, was a few months ago and its still there. Don't remember what he asked for it though... Matt. You can find stuff he is selling on this site and e-mail him.

I had an American grader on an M, I think Galion or Trogan made one for an H, not positive about that. Mine was in at least fair condition, on a good late M in working condition and I gave $1500 for it.

Well, I have had, in the beginning, at least, pleasant dealings with Sam Adams, I even visited his place in Texas to retrieve a tractor. I understand he has a pretty good reputation but I rather not deal with him...he put an awful sour taste in my mouth here while back.

Tom:

I have not seen a lot of interest in the few I've seen for sale. Rarity does not create value without demand. I saw one on ebay about a year ago and nobody even bid on it. I'd wait the guy out and keep looking.

I like to see that since I have never heard of an H grader but I have seen/heard of the M grader which was an after market thing made for the M tractor
