What is the correct way to mount the light bar on a letter series? I"ve seen them both ways now and I"m confused:

1. Behind the steering post with the smooth side of the diamond-shaped plate facing forward?
2. In front of the steering post with the smooth side of the plate facing the driver?

Dad"s old Super M has it mounted in back.
Dad"s new Super H has it mounted in front.
My Super H has it mounted in back.
The November picture on my Farmall 2007 calendar has an H with it mounted in front.

I would think for the lightbar toolbox to work, it would have to be mounted in back.

The light bar goes on the back side of the post. There is a alinement bump that goes in the cutout on the light bar. Be careful with the U bolts they are not muffler clamps they are an odd size . been there Ha

The old photos I've looked at shows the bar on the back.

I agree with it on back. Isn't there also a small pin on the post that aligns with a slot on the light bar? I think the pin is supposed to be the rivet that holds the top cast part of the post (where the steering shaft goes thru) to the pipe part of the post. Alot of these I've seen have been ground off and replaced with a bolt.
