I have Genius 3 bottom that I am refurbishing, used to have steel wheels but was modified ages ago to use tires. The tire for the land wheel is completely shot. If you own one on steel, could you check the diameter of the wheel and let me know what it is. Then I can find a tire that's pretty close.
Thanks

I have a 2-14" Little Genius on steel, the left wheel(lift wheel) is 29 1/2" dia., right wheel (furrow wheel) is 23 1/2" dia., tail wheel is 18 1/2" dia.,(at the widest point not the tapered side).

Thanks!
That gives me a good idea of what to look for in a tire, should make adjusting it easier.

I picked up a 2-16 little genues and it has odd wheels on it. The fronts are 16" with a 5 spoke cast center. They clamp on just like a tractor front tire. I used a tire and rim from my M and clamped it on. The clamps are the same as my 39 F-20.

Got any pictures? I've never seen that type of wheel on a plow.

I'm a little ways northeast of Waco. I've been looking here for a couple of years but mostly just lurking. A lot of times I can find the answer I need by doing a search of the forum.

I've got a 2 bottom on steel, but I can't get out to it right now. The 2 bottom little genius that I use is also on the cut-down steel wheels. The tires were totally rotted away when I got it, so I replaced them with a pair of used tractor fronts. Land wheel and furrow wheel both with the same size tire. Not correct, but it works very well. Another 3 bottom plow that I have is equipped with rubber tires, and uses a 7.00 or 7.50 x 15 pick-up truck tire on the land side, and a smaller, car sized, 15 inch tire on the furrow side.

Thanks
The furrow tire on this one is unusual. It has no tread and slopes steeply from one side to the other. It"s heavily weather checked but holds air. I"m going to try it and see how long it lasts! Couldn"t find a 4.00 X 12 for the back around here, but did get close with a 4.80 X 12.

Also Binder Books has two manuals for Little Genius #8, one is from 1929 and has parts list the other from 1951 and says something about a parts list for the H and M. Not sure which one to go with, Maybe somebody here has seen them and can shed light on it.

The 4.00x12 tapered tire is actually what most of us call the "tail wheel". I think the tapered tire for the tail wheel is available now but I don't know who has it. Maybe Miller tire? The little genius that I use still has the original steel tail wheel. I can't shed much light on the manuals in question, but 1929 seems a bit early for a little genius. I might be wrong.

I haven't checked with Miller on that one. Shipping shouldn't be too bad on one that small. I agree that '29 seems kinda early.
