2400a water pulley removal?

i have a 1977(?) IH 2400a (similar to a 454). i need to remove the pulley from the water pump - how is that done? does it screw on? the pump is on my bench with the pulley attached somehow - i can"t figure out how to get it off

guys- thanks for your help. turns out that the pulley just comes off - mine was rusted to the impeller shaft so it wasn't obvious. a little PB Blaster freed things up.

so procedure is:
1) remove 4 bolts holding fan on.
2) remove fan.
3) remove pulley.

Hi, unless you have a proper press for removing the pulley hub and bearing, you will crack the water pump casting. My brother has been there done that on his 454. In Canada CIH stocks a remanufactured water pump for about $80.00 CND with your old casting. If you break casting replacement pump is more than double the exchange price.

Should be common part for 454,574,674,484,584,684.

The pulley may be pressed on. Send an email to
cslothower@hoober.com and they have their service manuals and will look up this info for you. You can call them too at 1-800-732-0017 and ask for farm tractor service. Hal
