Hi, is there away I can run the exhaust straight up through the hood instead of out the back. It seems like I'm sitting in the exhaust fumes and I was hopeing that I could run the exhaust straight up some kind of way. Anybody got any ideal's ? Thanks for your time Scotty

Some one near me has one that they just ran the exhaust vertical behind the fender. Looks kinda funny but I guess it works.

Hi Scotty, Most 674Ds that I have seen had down vertical exhaust. I looked in the parts book for 684 and there are different exhaust manifolds & elbow required for vertical exhaust.

I would look in scrap yard for exhaust manifold and elbow. Should be common for D239 on 574,674,684,584,595,695.

Scotty: Take a good look at the manifold bolt pattern, and manifold itself. On some of those European diesels the manifold could be turned with discharge pointing up. Then it is just a matter of making a hole in the hood. I forget exactly which models that can be done with. I know a neighbor had a 674 with upright exhaust, through the hood.
