I was offered a Super C today.

It has new tires on the rear, has cultivators and sod busters for rear. All the sheet metal is good, paint is good but faded. It has been kept in the barn in the dry. It runs good. Frankly, operatonally, I cannot find anything wrong with it, it does not smoke, he tells me that he changed the oil regularly, radiator is standing full, oil is pretty clean...No 3 point hitch. The offering price was $1,800.00. Deal or no deal????

Shoot, Tom, I paid $3,000 for my Super C (came with a JD Seed Drill, front loader, Oliver 2-bottom plow and harrows). It runs pretty good, but needed some work and leaks some hydraulic oil. You sound like you have a pretty good deal, provided that you have some use for it. I feel like I got a fair deal, one that put me on a learn-as-you-go program, since I don't know anything about tractors. And I'm in eastern Washington, where Ford & John Deere appear to be more prevalent than Farmalls.

Sounds like a pretty good price to me. If you're wanting to restore it, a wide front and fenders would make it more valuable, but if you're wanting to use it, I wouldn't particularly want either. When you get it home and spend some time with it, you'll probably find the opportunity to put more money into it!

That seems like a good price. I paid $1800.00 for mine about 2 years ago. Mine had the McCormick loader on it, and fast hitch, tires overall 85% with some weather checking. Needed paint, but runs really good. Good luck, I would buy it, most handy tractor we have!!

I think the price is solid for the SC you describe. Getting bargains is great, getting value is fair. If you want/need it do it. JimN

$1800 seems to be about the current asking price. However, this is late Fall... I would feel much more comfortable if you got it for $1500 - $1600.

That's plenty, but it would probably sell. I think $1500 would be high enough. They are really handy with a FH or a 3pt.
