I put tranny fluid in my cylinders yesterday and tonight, I went out there to check it out. It had drained down around the pistions into the pan after about 36 hours. I cleaned the plugs and gave the starter a whirl. It fired right up and hitting on all 4 again. Really smoking...after adjusting the carb tomorrow I will run it up and down the road to see if it will quit...anyway, thanks for all the advice.

As the fluid ran to lower quarters, I am suspecting that it is about time for rings.

I've had good luck with Marvel Mystery Oil for freeing up stuck rings on my W-9. Soaked the cylinders with it for a few days, and put a bottle in with the oil change. I'm sure that it's sat so long again now that the rings are probably re-stuck. :o( Unfortunate that I cannot be at the farm enough to play with my toys on a regular basis.

that trans fluid is going to seep by the rings regardless if it had a new rebuild it still will seep by . what i would do is get her fired up and and tie her to something heavy and work the crap out of it sometimes the rings will stick. more than once i hace stoped an old engine fromsmoking and excessive blowby

It will smoke for about 15-30 minutes maybe less from the tranny fluid. The tranny fluid gets in behind the rings and also all down the sides of the pistons, so it takes some time for it to burn out. Now if after you get it warmed up good it doesn't stop then I would do a compression check on it so you can gauge the condition of the engine

I'd imagine it will smoke a bit because of the residual tranny fluid still in the cylinders.
Good luck and hope everything goes well bud!!
