Looks like the changing weather has gotten everyones seals leaking.

I posted a while ago about a gear oil leak on a Super A comming out a hole right above the seed drive on the left hand side. Gene Bender posted it was the seals that needed to be replaced. I want to order them before I take it apart to have them ready to put back in.

Can yall (someone) go to the url below and tell me what the numbers are for the correct seals. Gene said I might want to replace the "inner seal" as well. Looks like there may be three or four seals I need to get.

inner seal for tranny 450083 outer for final drive 452222 frony tranny 470066 these are CAR QUEST#S You can make the gasket for the outer cover on the diff and also make ones for the pans on the final drive. You can also reline your brake bands if needed. I like to put the drums in a lathe and take a cut with a sharp point to cut the glaze then when done with the new linning you will have super brakes.

If you are getting oil above the seed plate drive opposite of where the brake rod goes in , it is either # 9 in the picture or it is the transmission bearing cage seal or the bearing cage 0 ring not shown it that picture.

other seals in the picture are # 26,27,37 unless i missed some scrolling up,down, back and around. picture is either too small or too large.

Banjo,

Its on the left hand side of the tractor.

Above the seed drive there is a square kind of hole. The gear oil leaks out of that hole and all over the sprocket for the seed drive then all over the final drive and then all over the floor. It leaks all the time, a good shot glass full in 12 hours.

I just want to replace all the seals while I am in there.

Yea, I know the picture is rather large and hard to follow, aint my site tho and best I could do.

That hole is actually made for the brake rod. those final drive housings can be used on either side.

The numbers 9,26,27,37 are seals that are shown in the picture. I do not have the part numbers.

what is not shown in the picture are 2 more seals i would change since i had the final drive housings off. the seal in the transmission bearing cage and the 0-ring around the bearing cage. those 2 seals keep the trans lube from leaking and soaking your brakes.

there are also gaskets under the covers. i just bought a roll of gasket material and cut my own.

check the lube in your tranny and see if it is low. that is probably what is leaking out the hole.
