There is a nice 3288 coming up for auction...curious regarding any info...reliability, specific problems, etc? I was told this is around 90 HP. Value in Indiana?

Appreciate your input.

You can't go wrong with that girl we had one for our gin tractor on the big farm it was awesome from pulling grain drills, grinding hog feed even used it to pull a cultimulcher with grain drill for beans when we got behind due to weather she always did what was asked of her the amazing thing was it's fuel economy. Just make sure the previous owner kept up the maintenance including rearend oil changes due to wet brakes and filings in the rearend case. I have no idea what it's worth depends on how bad you want it.

It's the same basic design underneath all that modern hood and platform as a Farmall 826 Diesel (~1970), and everything from the bell housing back harkens back to the days of the 806 (1964). Very well-proven, time-tested drivetrain.

The 358 German diesel is a good engine, just not as torquey as the US-built 360 diesel engine.

We have a 3088, which is basically the same thing as a 3288, just without a cab and a few less horsepower. There really aren't any major problems with these tractors, the basic design is pretty much the same as the 86 series, with a few improvments. The shift levers are located on your right side instead of on the left, which makes getting in and out much easier. The TA is shifted electronicly, which means the shifts are instant and there is less slippage. The 358 engine is extremely fuel efficient and reliable, but the cylinder sleeve o-rings tend to leak once they get to be about 30 years old, especially if the machine has not had regular cooling system maintenece. As for value, I'd guess $15,000+ for a real nice one
