Have a chance to purchase a Farmall Regular that is missing the serial plate. The serial no. stamped into the engine block is QC60931 if that helps?? Also it is missing the mag and wandering if the mag from a f20 could be used?? It is complete other then the mag tho the motor appears to be stuck! Any info would be appreciated!!

There should be a matching number on the tool box and one on top of the left front frame rail,just behind the radiator

So the engine serial no is the same as the tractor serial no. like the h's!! Wasnt sure!! Thanks for the reply. Have a f20 but the block is cracked, missing clutch cover, clutch and have a chance to pick this Regular up reasonable so thinking to rebuild the Regular and part the f20 out.

The engine will usually not match the tractor # but they should be close. What he is saying is that the tractor # is also stamped on the frame rail and it will match the one on the tool box if it were there.

massey, that would be a 1929 model. check the serial number section on this site and you will see. yes, an f-20 mag will work, although you may have to change the coupler flange to accept the f-4 mag. if it had an e-4a mag the flange is for a smaller coupler. it can be changed though as the blocks and all are the same. you will have an automatic impulse with the f-4. original e-4a's are available if you want to keep it original. good luck. russ
