Bought a 6 cylinder diesel out of a TD 6. Assume it is a 282, but where is the CID stamped on these motors? I know where the 4 cylenders are, as that"s what I"m used to. Any input appreciated, and hope all have a good Thanksgiving. Geoff NY

Geoff: I'm thinking that engine could be the same engine as in the 460 diesel tractor, I forget the exact cubic inch. I know for certain TD9 used the 282. Could well be they both used 282. My neighbor had a TD9 with 282. I can't remember for certain, did those use a different injection pump than 560 tractor. I remember a 282 in our area with an inline pump, it may have been a stationary engine.

I am certain TD9 was 282. The rest is a question?

Hi Hugh, this one has a rotary pump. Now that the rain and relatives are gone, I"m going to check the serial # and hopefully the cid. Thanks for the replies. Geoff

The ci should be stamped on the left side below the oil filter. All though I bought a combine motor that didnt have a ci stamp anywhere
