This is sad, it looks like I've developed a bug for tractors now.

Ran across a guy who has an F-12 from what I gather. has the steering wheel going straight across the top and all but is missing a fender. It's on full steel wheels wih the rears with the spikes on it. The engines stuck and the machine is a smooth brown in color and it looks to only be surface rust. I think everythings there at least from what I can see. I'm guessing it has a magneto mounted on the flywheel like a car because I'm not seeing a generator or alternator. Some small dents but nothing too serious. Nice machine really with lots of potential I'd say. in some cases I'd rather a stuck engine too since sometimes it means the toleraces are still tight.

What's a fair price to ask? I'm thinking that this dude just wants to get rid of it actually by the way he talks. Might swing it for a couple hundred but I'd like to know what it's worth tops.

Does someone do babbiting for these blocks and are parts even available. The steel wheels ar neat but I can't use them on the road so I might just pass altogether too unless it's a worthwhile project. I love 1920's cars and I'm thinking this might go well with my collection.

Patrick, it looks like you did that tractor in CAD, do you live in Ohio?

"in some cases I'd rather a stuck engine too since sometimes it means the toleraces are still tight."

I don't think thats true. I mean, in one way it is true, the tolerances are too tight which is why its stuck. The problem is when it frees up its quite likely to have (or develop) a broken ring. Its also real easy to break other stuff if you hurry while freeing up a stuck engine.
This isn't to say a stuck tractor engine is the end of the road but I don't think I'd ever prefer one...

The magneto is on the righthand side of the engine. You can see it in the picture. Fenders were an option and are quite rare. The engine uses insert bearings and they are still available.

SWEET!!!!! !! I am spared from babbiting this thing!.....

..... Now I might just grab it for sure.

Can I get aluminum pistons for it?

Funny that a fender could be rare. Especially these, it looks like a big 55 gallon drums cut to fit but it is indeed a fender.

And if that is the Mag in the pic then I know it's missing now because it isn't on this tractor I'm looking at.
