I'm crossing my fingers. I just bid on a part that I need on e-bay. I won't tell you right now what it is just in case one of you gets any funny ideas. But if I win it, it will be my first official parts purchase for my H.

Too bad I'm too broke to afford it! lol

It was a Distillate hood. I've never seen one in such good condition for the price. I'm happy with the deal I got.

Congratulations Mike, you got yourself a nice hood.
That will be a good starting point.

You are stalking me!!

Yes, it was a hood. Not many of them around, and especially in that good of condition.

No...I wasn't stalking you. Just remembered your eBay user name from when you were bidding on the H.
When I looked up the auction this morning, there were exactly 2 seconds left...not enough time for me to make my ten dollar offer anyway.☺
Like Cowman says: you got a nice piece at a good price.
Good Luck with your project.

I had auto-bidded up to $100! HA HA HA!!!

Now I just have to figure out what turnip to squeeze the blood from in order to pay for it.

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. There are lots of good deals on ebay and many times I find parts there I can't buy any place else. Best wishes on your project.

I plan on doing that with a lot of parts. But I have asked about hoods, and have come up blank. This looked like an opportunity that couldn't be passed.

Mike, when the auction has ended, let us know if you think you did OK or not. There are lots of spare H parts out there, most of them are for sale, but quite a few of us will no longer do business with e-bay.

Kind of exciting isn't it. I am actually going to keep all of my receipts from my H rebuild and see how much it actually costs me to do it. I think it may be easier for me to just buy one or two more for parts though.

I will be logging everything I spend for my website diary.

It's not up yet, but I bought everything, I just need time to start building it.

If your "significant other" finds the receipts you may need to invest significant $$ in maintenance of the relationship!!
I have kept my receipts with no problems at this time, however. My wife is not very interested in the whole process.

I think saving those receipts will cure you of any excitement....probably better throw them away.

I am just curious to see how much I invest in the H because I know it will not be nearly as much as I have invested in my MD. I seem to have paid the highest for every part when that tractor was rebuilt.

If you write all of your expenses down you will not be able to use the finer points of "Marriage 101" lying to the boss!
