I bought a farmall 200 narrow front last fall for $3000. It has been repainted but nothing mechanical was done to it except for new rubber. It runs fine smokes a little when first started. I had to replace hydraulic hoses, generator and front wheel bearings. I was wondering what it might be worth, and why there ar so few of them.

The C's, Super C's, 200's and 230's are nice tractors, but you "stepped up to the plate" when you paid $3,000 for one that smokes and is not showroom new - at least in my part of the world. I would say $1400 to $1800 is more in the range of current market value. They are a handy size machine, though.

$3000 was on the high end, depending on the location. If it smokes it is worth less than $3000. It depends on how bad someone wants it. About 15000 230's were built. A 200 is basically a Super C with different sheet metal, there were nearly 98000 Super C's built, and nearly 80000 C's built. The 230, which is basically a red and white 200, numbered about 7100, so there were over 200000 of that type tractor built. There is little difference between these 4 tractors, except for fast hitch which appeared on the Super C and increased HP. That's a bunch, it had to end sometime to keep up with the competition.
