Gotta technical question. I have a magneto on an H that needs a new cap and rotor and probably points etc. Did they just make one set for this or did they make more than one magneto and how do you tell the difference? The magneto was IHC on the outside but no part numbers. The rotor has a cap in it that is almost as big as the inside of the cap and is a round disc in shape. Thanks for the input, Harley

Harley,
If it's a mag on an H then it's an "H4 Mag". Case IH has cap, rotor, points, and condenser or visit "farmallmagneto.com"

As far as I know the H4 mag was the only one. Cap, rotor and points should all be the same from 1939 up to the end.

That's an H4. All H4's use the same points, rotor, condenser, coil, cap, coil cap. The H4's on the diesel engines look the same, but turn in the opposite direction,CCW. The standard H4 turns CW.
