If anyone out there has an IHC 2000 Loader on a 2424 or 424 IHC tractor, I'd like to know where your hydraulic filter (for the front mounted pump) is located, and if it is plumbed into the return line from the valve bank, or into the suction line to the pump. Thanks in advance.....

Larry

Don't have that combination, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn once in my lifetime.

What I can tell you is that any of the filter setups I've encountered like that have the filter plumbed into the return line, just in front of the drain hole into the tank.

That"s also been my experience, but on this, the filter is in the suction line to the pump. The only suction filters I"ve ever seen used were fine mesh screens. This looks like an original set up but it doesn"t make much sense...

I think your system will have a suction only screen. It should be built into the nipple that comes out of the lower right front of the lift box assy. You have to remove the rubber suction hose and then remove the bolt/clilp and pull the screen out of the lift assembly.
An optional high pressure filter was available and would be mounted in front of the gear shift and be pretty obvious if yours had it. Ben

I do have the mesh filter you described on the suction line for the pump mounted on the engine that runs the power steering and 3-point. The auxiliary pump for the loader is mounted on front and runs off the crankshaft. It has a separate suction line that comes out of the top of the lift box assembly (under the seat) and then goes through the filter I"ve mentioned. I"ve seen where the optional filter goes under the dash, and don"t have that one. Unfortunately, the 2000 loader parts book I have doesn"t show the plumbing arrangement for my setup, possibly because the book is earlier than my loader.

After looking at the setup again, I"m pretty well convinced this filter was either added on (incorrectly) or moved. I"ll play with it this coming weekend. Thanks for the comments.
