I want to tell everyone out there how important a safe attitude is during the fall and even throught the rest of the year. Today dad and I went out to the farm to try and finish pickin corn, we have a JD 300 on a MF 1155, and I went up to neighbors to sell FFA and Boy scout stuff and during the time I was up there dad decided to fill up with fuel and clean out the picker, (you know where I'm goin) when I came back I found dad standin there yellin with his left hand wrapped and the neighbors standin there worried and my aunt roaring around the garage comin to pick him up to take him to the hospital. I couldn't believe he would actually stick his hand in a moving husking bed. well he had surgury and is keeping all 10 of his fingers. I just want to tell everyone to be safe in everything you do:(

I was home (in Ohio at that time) when my neighbor Reached in on a snapping roll on a mounted picker on an M. The Roll drive was slipping on its clutch ( a cob was stuck in it)and his son got there just before it took off again and clutched the tractor. Just as the picker stopped, the roll started dragging his arm in farther. He was just brused, but his brain was modified toward a safer attitude. JimN
