Does anyone know which voltage regulator was used in 1953 on the super c. Generator mount or side mount?

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. Sounds like the reg should be under the gen. Thanks again.

I believe my '52 Super C to be very original and the Delco Remy voltage regulator is beneath the gnereator.

The voltage regulator was mounted under the generator, cut-out relay on top of the generator. I believe cut outs were not used past about 1949, so you have a voltage regulator that mounts underneath.

Thanks for the response. The reason I asked the question is that I have a book on letter series farmalls and there are pictures of regular c"s showing one with reg on top of gen and one with reg under the gen. This made me wonder of both types were used or if one of the c"s did not have the original generator. I am trying to make my super c as close to original as possible and wondered if both types were used. Any more comments. Thanks.

Only that I have a 50 C with regulator under the generator, and a 48 C with a cutout on top of the generator. If your light switch is ODB it has a regulator, if LHDB it has a cutout. A 53 should have a regulator, and I'm 99% sure it goes under the generator, and that the ones you see in your book on top of the generator are cutout relays. HOWEVER, when I'm this sure about anything, I'm also wrong 99% of the time.

On my 52 SC the regulator is under the generator. Don't know if this is the way they came from factory just the way it was when I bought the tractor a couple of years ago. Way the old wires run from gen down to regulator and the wires are in the wiring harness it looks original.
