Wow, went out to the barn at 4am to make sure feed ran, and after hopped in the shed for S $G'lls to see if the 544D would start. Was 24 deg, not plugged in, pulled the cold start cable back, hit the buttenm and hit the either assist just a tap and she fired right up, did take a few seconds to smoothly run on all 4 but that was the best start I have ever had under 40 deg with out the heater plugged in. I guess the ol girl is starting to feel appreciated again, or maybe it was the discing that burned the corn cobs out ? Either way I'll take it.

Went thru the same experience with my 686.

A new can of either and just a "tap" on the button did wonders for it. Anything under 60 degrees and this tractor gets a little lazy about starting.

One "tap" does the trick tho. Those Germans just aren't good cold weather starting engines. :>)

What did you boys decide on the open-station floor? Am I supposed to be shipping this one I have left over to someone or somewhere?

Allan

Well the 544 has the reglar open station floor. The original cab floor is probably on the tractor that had the cab prior to mine. Bill, still wants. should not be too har d to peice in a floor. Sure beats not having a cab at all on a windy jan day . I will have to get by with a snomobile helmet and warm coat this year yet as I still aint found the right tractor to buy.
