A friend of mine took the head off his M he bought for pulling. He was told it had a M&W crank and 4 1/4 bore. Upon pulling the head he discovered the sleeves where removed and the bore is 4 1/8 with 1/2" high domes. the piston moved 5 3"4 down to bdc, M&W stroker crank? The counter bore in the block was never filled which resulted in cranking preasure of 130 to 145 psi. Fill me in not used to working on the reds! Dave S

Stock stroke 5 1/4.
M&W stroker cranks sold for M were 1/2 inch over stock.

You might want to pose this question over on the pulling board. They are more inclined to do "unconventional" things with these old engines.

If you click on Discussion Forums in the Community box to the left and then scroll down to Tractor Pulling. This is one site. I have never been here so don't know how good it is.
