IH 756 Engine Help Needed

I have an IH 756 with the German Diesel that was my dads primary tractor for many years. I recently was able to get it running again after about 8 years of sitting. It does not smoke, does not use much oil by history, and I could not identify any coolant in the oil. However, after running for about 2 minutes it blows water/coolant out of the radiator very, very forcefully, It is not hot when doing this and does not seem to lack power. My father has replaced two headgaskets on this tractor over a period of about 15 years. Can anyone tell me why it would be doing this or have recommendations? Is the cylinder head on this engine prone to cracking? Sorry for the long post. Thank you.

Unfortunately the tractor did not have a coolant filter on it. We had flushed the coolant system after I got it running and I had the radiator checked out at the radiator shop. I am going to pull the head tomorrow and have it checked out. I am really dreading the rebuild bill on this engine but the tractor has a lot of sentimental value. Thank you very much for the replies.

Does it have a coolant filter on it? Most likelly not, I bet its a cavaitated sleeve. Common to wet sleeve engines that have not had timelly coolant changes or a water filter installed.

There is also a possibility that you have a cracked sleeve. I had this happen to me several years ago. The tractor exhibited the exact symptoms that you are describing. It would blow all the water out of the radiator when the engine was accelerated. We finally found the culprit by taking the injectors out one by one and blowing compressed air into the cylinder, while an assistant looked in the radiator. When we came to the cylinder with the cracked sleeve, the radiator would boil when the compressed air was blown in.

If it were a head gasket you would have a hint of whiteish smoke. After it setting that long did you drain the antifreeze and replace it? Have the radiator off? Sounds like maybe part of the cooling system is plugged. That it builds the pressure so fast even cold, it has to excape somehow. And a radiator cap is usually only made up for 10-14lbs of pressure. If he was having problems with head gaskets, maybe at one point he used stop-leak or something to help it. And if stop-leak sets for a long period of time without any circulation it'll settle and plug things up. Check the simple stuff first then move on to the major.
