Am looking for a wiring harness for a '55 300 Row Crop. The only one listed on YT parts is for a 12V diesel. Is this something that any IH dealer carries or is it pretty specific to the 300? If it is pretty unique, any suggestions where I can find one? I am in Central Minnesota. Or is it just easier to rewire everything using seperate wire/conectors etc..Thanks for the help.

I bought the wire, shrink tubing and connectors and made my own for my W6. I soldered all the connectors on and shrink tubed it when I was done. The only thing with shrink tubing is it is harder to make repairs if needed later. All said and done the cost was about $50.00.

OEM tractor parts catalog lists two for the 300, main and rear. Part number is the same for gas and diesel. You could give them a call.

You might want to contact YT and ask. I would think a wire harness for gas 300 row crop would much easier to find than for the diesel, Maybe a mis-print? I've never replaced the complete harness, only just made repairs as needed, but have often thought that it would be easier to replace the whole thing and be done.

Rusty, thats kinda what I'm shooting for, just getting everything in one shot, but would prefer not to pay through the nose at the dealer.

Well its an older model but close. I got a wiring harness from our CaseIH dealer for a Farmall H. Think it had everything to hook up the generator, to the light switch box. Everything else was extra. But I would think if they can get a harness for an H should be able to find something on a 300. If not see if any electric man can do it. Or get tips from him to DIY. If you still have an "original" harness(and not chopped up) he could pry do it for ya.
