I have a '42 A Cultavision, (is that the option or right style name?). How rare is the Cultavision over others and how many types of "A"s were there? I noticed most of the pictures posted here are somewhat difficult to see if they are cultavision style or not. I have toyed with the idea of belly mowing with this one but it is too handy pulling around a hay rake or moving wagons around.

ALL "A"'s are the same offset "cultivision" style.

Just not all of them have the "cultivision" decals to let you know what you can already see!

Thats what I was wondering. Some of the pictures posted appear not to be offset so I was thinking there were more than one model. Once you get to the Super A or above the offset seat goes away then? Did they make any of the larger tractors offset?

The Cub, A, and B were offset. The B, although offset and very similar to the A, had the engine in the middle and was not available with a wide front axle, just as the A was not available with a single or narrow front. The A line evolved into the Super A/Super A1/100/130/140. The line ended with the 140 in early 1979, all were basically the same tractor, with a little more power, all were offset. The 140 was replaced with, I believe the 274 (number may not be right. That was also an offset tractor made in Japan? Totally different tractor. The B was replaced by the C in 1948, the C was not offset. I think the offset Cub was also in production into 1979. All had the same styling, although the the cultivision name eventually died. Don't remember if the cultivision name was used on the Cub.

CNKS, I think you have it pretty well covered. The "Cultivision" name was used on the Farmall A, AV, B and BN. It was continued on the Super A until the white background decal was used. It was not used on the International A, or Cub. I believe the Japanese 274 Offset was built from '79 to '84.

Super "A"'s are offset, just like an "A".
