Super C Carb question

I took apart the carb on a Super C that I recently got unstuck, and there was no venturi. There was the brass tube that feeds into the center of where it should be. I believe the previous owner ran it that way. Can this run without it, or should I really put one in? I thought it was funny when I took it apart, but this is the first SC I played with. All my other tractors (except the Regular) have a venturi. If I need one, anyone know where I can get one?

Is it a Carter or a Zenith ? I have found several carbs on E-Bay. Some good some not so good. Some new.I ended up with a couple of doner carbs and extra parts. Craig

With out it, it will never run as it should. I would try to find one for it. I'd start by calling a Case/IH dealer and then go from there
