Welp I spent some time the other day winterizing. I checked all the anti freeze with tester and added to a couple of the tractors to top them up. I dumped the sediment bowls to get rid of any water. I still need to mix some fuel stabilizer in some gasoline and dump a few gallons in each of the H's and the M. I mixed up a 5 galon pail of diesel with a quart of Transmission fluid and some diesel fuel conditioner and added to the B250. Will do likewise with the 584. I like using the ATF, it rids the system of moisture. I have one oil change to do , going to a lighter winter oil in the 584. The H's and M probably won't be started throughout the winter I think they are all set for the winter. The snowblower is setting beside the shed ready to hook up. I hope I don't need it much this winter. I used to enjoy blowing snow but the fun has worn off and its just another job that has to be done each snowy day.

Yep, I'm like you- that blowing snow used to be fun. But when you're out there feeding 900 head of cows every day, with two 4wd tractors(one with a blade to break a path and clear drifts to load bales) and you can't even see the tractor in front of you 80% of the time, blowing snow gets old fast.

When I was a kid, the "winterizing" for our H's, M's, A's, etc. that were only used for summer hayfield tractors consisted of parking them in something that resembled a fairly straight row(usually on a sidehill so they could be roll-started in the spring), pulling the plug on the radiator drain to let the water out, and not thinking about 'em again until next spring. Never caused a problem, but, like everything else, there's always a better way.

Michael, You sound very competent in tractor service. If you have time to kill, I have 16 or 17 old tractors that could use up a day of your time. I'll buy lunch. Wolfy.
