I don't know the exact type of cylinder thats on your loader, but the cylinders I've repacked have really been easy. Hardest part is getting them off and on and handling them if they're large. It's just a re-o-ringing job basically. Seems like mine were less than bucks apiece, maybe I misremember. I've done five, two the same, the others all different, all simple. Maybe I was lucky or maybe it's something that seems magical because most people don't try it.??. If you're thinking of scrapping it, take it down and look at it, price the parts... and then decide. Matt.

From what I've seen loaders increase the value of a tractor to some degree (averages about 300-500). They also decrease the value of the tractor itself because of front end wear issues. If you can get the cylinder fixed cheaply (I've heard it is easy to redo the seals, aint done it yet), Then I would keep it. Loaders around here go for anywhere between 200-5-700 depending on the tractor its designed for.

You can have the cylinders repacked. Last time we had it done it cost about 300-500 dollars for someone else to do it.

If the loader frame is in good condition, I would consider it to be a keeper. Usually new seals will fix a leaky cylinder.
