Hi, Wondering the year of my 6388 and have no idea where to look online with a serial number listing for it..... someone told me it was a very early one, but just wanted to see for myself. The fram tag reads:

Does this number mean anything to anybody????

Thanks Again!! Rob Bush

Serial numbers for 6388 went from 8801 to 9073, meaning 272 were built from 1981 to 1984.

Serial number is located on the right side of the rear frame in front of the rear axle.

The serial number would be 8609. All of those numbers that come before 8609 are basically gibberish that wouldn't mean anything to anyone other than the factory. According to the serial number guides I can find on a few different websites, such as batescorp.com, serial numbers for the 6388 started at 8801. Are you sure your 6 isn't an 8? If your serial number is actually 8809, you'd have the 9th 6388 off the line. That would make it a 1981 model. All of those 60 series 2+2's are pretty rare, they only built a couple thousand total of all three models.
